Have you gotten a chance to check out the new Jimmy Dean Sausage Crumbles yet? They are fully-cooked sausage pieces that you just heat up and serve. It's so easy for weeknight dinners. I would make a hearty, meaty pasta sauce with this sausage. Maybe I'd add some fresh garlic and herbs, and toss the sauce with some homemade fettucine noodles. Yum! Our friends at Drugstore Divas used the crumbles to create a Stuffed Eggplant recipe (click that link to check it out). What would you make? Let me know in the comments to be entered to win a $50 Target or Walmart gift card. This giveaway starts now and ends at 11:59pm EST on April 4, 2014. You must be a US resident who is 18 or older to enter. The winner will be contacted via the email address in the Rafflecopter and will have 24 hours to respond before another winner is selected. No other compensation has been provided, and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** Now that nicer weather is on its way (I hope) one of the things I am really looking forward to is getting out with the kids and going to our awesome outdoor water park. It has a couple of great swimming pools, a lazy river, and even some massive water slides. Of course for Sophie and Xander, there are some really fun toddler areas, too!
Of course going to the water park also means squeezing myself into a swim suit. Yuck. I have some pretty major body image issues, especially since having kids, and I dread bathing suit season. It seems that most bathing suits are either way too revealing for a woman in her 30's, or they just don't flatter anyone except for those "stick insect women" that grace the covers of magazines. Sigh... So while I am excited and looking forward to doing all the things that summer in NE Ohio has to offer, I am certainly not thrilled about wearing a swimsuit. So when I got the opportunity to review the modest swimwear from Hapari, I breathed a sigh of relief. I am already familiar with these super high-quality suits, and I love the fact that they're made for real women who may not have supermodel physiques. (Yes, even those of us with belly pooches and stretch marks!) The folks at Hapari offer trendy swimwear that is cute but also doesn't let everything hang out, if you catch my drift. I feel good wearing Hapari swimwear because I can feel confident and classy without feeling over-exposed. Hapari offers many different styles of women's swimwear from fun tankinis, cute bikinis and even flattering one pieces. They even have a special lines of Junior's swimwear, as well as great options for men and boys! But that's not all! Hapari even has Plus Sized swimwear and special mastectomy swimwear for those breast cancer survivors out there. So I think it's safe to say, Hapari has something for everyone. All opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** Do I have any hardcore Disney fans out there? I knew it! After all, who doesn't love the magical world that Walt Disney created so many years ago? I grew up on Disney, and my children are Disney kids, too. So of course, when I got the opportunity to review the blockbuster hit "Saving Mr. Banks", I was really excited. Not only does this film feature the immeasurable talent of Tom Hanks as he portrays the man behind the magic, Walt Disney himself, it also tells the story of how a father's promise to his daughters led to the making of Mary Poppins!
You see, Walt Disney was obviously a loving and devoted father, and he promised his girls that he would make a movie about their favorite book. Little did he know that he would run into more than a few hiccups along the way. The author, Mrs. Travers, was not so easily swayed by Disney's pleas to immortalize her beloved book on film, and she certainly didn't make the process too easy on him. Check out these great clips below to see why this movie is pure Disney magic! ***Disclosure: Although Newly Crunchy Mama Of has been compensated by i-Health, Inc., the makers of Estroven Weight Management, in the form of free product to try, the opinions expressed in this blog are independent and not associated with i-Health.*** Okay, so this post may seem a bit odd on my blog. I am 32 years old, and nowhere near menopause just yet. I don't experience hot flashes or night sweats, and my cycles are like clockwork. I still have plenty of time before I have to start thinking about "The Change".
So why am I sharing information about Estroven Weight Management? Well, because I know several people who often express frustration with the bodily changes that occur during menopause. I have even heard some women say that their bodies no longer seem there own due to the often uncomfortable symptoms of menopause. The most common complaints? Weight gain, hot flashes and moodiness. Estroven's new Weight Management with clinically proven Synetrim CQ dietary supplements help combat these all too common issues that every woman will one day have to face. It provides multi-symptom relief, helps keep those extra pounds at bay, and is completely safe and effective. ***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. Of course with a teenager and 2 preschoolers, it's sometimes difficult to find a movie that everyone can enjoy. My teen doesn't want to watch "baby movies" and the munchkins are too young to handle certain films that my teen is allowed to watch.
Luckily, there is a brand new film featuring The Little Rascals coming to Blu-Ray Combo pack on April 1, 2014 that I know my whole entire family can enjoy. And come on.... Who doesn't love Spanky, Darla, Alfalfa, Buckwheat and the rest of this timeless and often mischievous gang? I grew up loving them, and thanks to the movie releases, my kids can grow up loving them, too! Here is some more information about The Little Rascals Save the Day! It seems that my Facebook timeline is literally exploding with cheers for or gripes about peoples' favorite NCAA teams. In many homes, this also means that there become temporary "sports widows". Yep. You ladies know what I'm talking about, right? Our men become SO incredibly wrapped up in the frenzy that is March Madness that the only time they're not glued to a screen of some sort is when they need to eat, sleep, work, or use the restroom. (And a lot of men remain glued while working or during "potty time", thanks to the technology found in mobile devices!)
Nowadays, it seems that people are getting connected to their favorite sports action in more ways than ever. Sure, everyone loves a huge HDTV. I know I love our 46" Samsung that we bought at Best Buy a few years ago. In addition to television, people are tuning in using their cell phones, tablets, and laptops, too. With so many devices that provide entertainment, it's hard to choose a favorite. My husband and I were actually talking about that the other night. Sometimes, he prefers using his iPod Touch to watch movies, YouTube videos and sporting events. He can take it anywhere, so whether we're waiting in a horribly long line at the grocery store or he's having a slow day at work, his iPod is right there to keep him occupied. I am torn...You see, I love my iPhone while I'm on the go, but I think my MacBook Pro has a slight edge. I guess the blogger in me is used to being glued to my laptop, multi-tasking all day. |
